Dear Sir, my name is Elif and I am contacting you from Türkiye. I have recently been admitted as a student to Charles University, Faculty of Medicine in Hradec Králové. The faculty has instructed me to deposit 400 000 CZK into the following IBAN account at czech bank: CZ61 0300 0000 0002 1265 4030. However, banks in Türkiye do not allow transfers in Czech crowns. Transfers are only possible in Euros, US Dollars, and several other major currencies. Could you please clarify: Is it possible to make an EFT transfer in Euros or US Dollars to the account mentioned above? If not, what alternative method can I use to complete the tuition payment? Dear Elif, I would recommend to ask Charles University for the payment details for a standard international payment (IBAN) in EUR. Otherwise it is also possible to send EUR, USD or any other currency to this account and the Charles University's bank will automatically convert the incoming payment in the foreign currency to CZK. The main disadvantage of this approach is that you will not know in advance how much CZK will be received by Charles University (the incoming payment in the foreign currency will be converted to CZK at the exchange rate of the receiving Czech bank on the date of receipt - making it hard to predict which exchange rate will be used exactly).
